Often our customers aren’t sure where to start or what type of care the trees and shrubs on their property require; that’s where we come in. Climbing Arborist

Role: The “Aerial Expert” responsible for the technical cutting, pruning, and removal of trees from the ground up.

Reports to: Crew Leader / Operations Manager

The Job: As a Climbing Arborist, you are the lead technician in the canopy. You will use ropes, harnesses, and climbing techniques to safely access trees, performing removals, pruning, and rigging. You are responsible for the safety of the ground crew by ensuring proper cutting techniques and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Climbing: Safely ascend trees using rope and saddle (SRT/DRT) to perform work at heights.

Cutting: Operate chainsaws and handsaws to prune, deadwood, and remove trees in sections.

Rigging: Set up ropes and pulleys to safely lower heavy branches to the ground without damaging property.

Safety: Perform daily inspections of climbing gear and saws. Adhere to all ANSI Z133 safety standards.

Customer Service: Interact with clients regarding tree health and job scope while on site.

What You Need to Succeed:

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of professional tree climbing experience.

Certifications: Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred).
ISA Arborist Certification is a plus.

Physical: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.

Skills: Proficient in knot tying, rigging techniques, and tree identification.

 

Groundsman (Ground Worker)

Role: The “Support System” responsible for safety, debris removal, and equipment operation on the ground.

Reports to: Crew Leader / Climbing Arborist

The Job:

As a Groundsman, you are the eyes and ears of the climber. You manage the landing zone, operate heavy machinery, and handle all debris. Your primary duty is ensuring the area is safe for the public, the crew, and the property while keeping the job site clean and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Roping: Act as the primary rope tender, controlling the speed of lowered branches and communicating with the climber via hand signals or radio.

Cutting: Feed brush into the wood chipper and operate chainsaws to buck (cut) logs on the ground.

Cleanup: Rake leaves, stack firewood, and haul debris to the truck. Ensure the property is left “park clean.”

Traffic Control: Set up cones and warning signs to direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic around the work zone.

Equipment: Perform daily maintenance on chipper, stump grinder, and chainsaws (sharpening, oil, and fuel).

What You Need to Succeed:

Experience: Previous landscaping or labor experience preferred.

Certifications: Valid Driver’s License (must be insurable).

Physical: Must be comfortable lifting heavy objects (50-100 lbs) and standing/walking for long periods.

Mindset: High attention to safety. Ability to take orders quickly and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
